OZEMPIC COULD LEAD TO AGEING LATER

Not only has Ozempic proven itself to be the ultimate drug when it comes to losing weight, but researchers now also believe that it could “have far-reaching benefits beyond what we initially imagined”.

A study done at Yale School of Medicine found that the drug initially developed to treat Type 2 diabetes, could slow down the process of ageing. It was also found that the drug could be used to treat a wide range of illnesses linked to heart failure, Alzheimer’s, cancer, and even arthritis.

Professor Harlan Krumholz said the study revealed that the ageing process could be slowed down.

“It wouldn’t surprise me that improving people’s health this way actually slows down the ageing process.”

The drug recently took the world by storm when it was discovered that it was a cure for obesity. In most parts of the world, the drug can only be obtained with a prescription. It works by suppressing a person’s appetite and is sold under the brand names Wegovy and Ozempic.

Although weight loss on the drug is quick, experts have warned that it shouldn’t be a long-term solution and it shouldn’t replace healthy eating and exercising.
