The This Morning hosts, Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby, had a special surprise on their Wedneday's edition of the ITV show. They had a chat with Coronation Street's Sally Carman, comedy legend Michael McIntyre, and author and beauty expert Caroline Hirons.

Hirons joined the two in the studio to discuss "maskne". But Phillip did not expect the beauty expert setting him straight.

Caroline shared her expertise and advice on the best products, and discussed the topic of "Maskne", which is the term loosely used to describe outbreak of spots and blemishes caused by wearing a face covering.

Going through a range of face coverings, Caroline held up a surgical mask while discussing several face coverings. She added that; "Obviously, we're talking about day-to-day people and not front line workers. Because, obviously, you always have to be in one of these [masks]. If we could, it'd be great if we all did, because they're always sterile and disposable."

Caroline continued to explain that there are a lot of options, before host Phillip jumped in. Phillip was keen to point out that the products may not be the most environmentally friendly option and stated that; "Having said that, how many are we putting on the planet?"

However, Caroline was quick to put a stop to Phillip's comments and snapped; "Please do not start with me, Phil. I've just got going," she pleaded. "Bear with, just give me a chance."

The This Morning host quickly kept quiet after suddenly being told off, while Holly giggled alongside him. The three went on with the show, and Caroline added that "I knew it was coming. I was like, I knew he's gonna say something."

Caroline also point out that she'd bought him a special black mask to wear to adhere to the Government's face covering rule to combat the spread of coronavirus.

They continued to discuss the topic of the day, as Caroline continued to share her expertise on how to prevent face blemishes.
