POSSIBLE PETROL PRICE DROP ON THE CARDS

If economist Mike Schussler’s prediction proves to be right, motorists might be in for a nice surprise regarding the petrol price.

He recently told The Citizen that “usually at the beginning of the year, the price of petrol falls because the price of oil falls. The oil demand then becomes a little less. So, it’s a bit seasonal and typically one will get the lowest petrol price in a year in January/February”.

Schussler said he believes the petrol price will drop by 75 cents back below R20 per litre.

With many motorists hoping for the best when it comes to finance minister Enoch Godogwana announcing the future of the e-tolls system during his budget speech in February, we might be in for a huge disappointment as it probably won’t bring any significant relief.
