QUEEN ELIZABETH LAUNCHES HER OWN GIN
There’s nothing quite like the feeling of accomplishment when you’ve managed to make your own version of something, and it turns out to look or taste great.
We bet Queen Elizabeth II is pretty chuffed with herself right now.
The Queen has recently launched her own gin, aptly named Buckingham Palace gin. The ingredients aren’t just any old bunch of stuff sourced from somewhere. InfoCourt reports that the Queen herself has personally contributed to the making of the royal gin.
The ingredients were handpicked from the Queen’s private country house estate in Norfolk and include lemon, verbena, berries and mulberries.
The Queen’s gin is bottled in a clear turquoise glass bottle with a golden (what else?) stopper.
It is rumoured that the Queen is a big fan of gin and that she enjoys a glass before lunch daily.
Well, the monarch might want to sit back, relax and drink one of her own gins as she watches The Crown.
The Netflix series has made headlines worldwide and, while the royal family has denied that it’s close to the truth, many viewers believe that it’s the closest they’ll ever get to knowing what really goes on in the life of Britain’s royal family.
Buckingham Palace gin sells for just over R800 a bottle and is only available in the UK. So, no, it can't be on your Christmas wish list.
