REMOTE SCOTTISH ISLAND FOR SALE

A small island south of Scotland is for sale. The island is currently uninhabited.

Barlocco doesn’t have any homes or buildings on it, but there is a pond that provides water for livestock and wildlife during the cold winter months.

If you’re willing to pay just over R3,3 million the island with its own pebble beach could be yours.

A statement released by the estate agency described the island as a place to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

“There’s still a very romantic sentiment attached to owning your very own Scottish private island, where you can escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and enjoy some peace and tranquility in the most beautiful scenery around.”

When it’s low tide, the island can be reached easily on foot, by quadbike or even a tractor.

CNN reports that the island is situated in a Site of Special Scientific Interest, an area in the UK defined as of particular interest due to the rare species of fauna or flora it contains.

The estate agent has said that it expects a lot of interest and that the buyer will have to be up for a challenge as no one has ever lived on the island before. The nearest town is six miles away so the new owners will have to be up for a lot of isolation, something a lot of people might just be yearning for.
