RIHANNA IS OFFICIALLY A BILLIONAIRE
The wealthiest female musician in the world, singer Rihanna, has just been estimated at being worth $1.7 billion. Ironically she didn’t make all of her fortune through her very successful music career.
Rihanna, whose real name is Robyn Fenty, launched Fenty Beauty in 2017. Back then the idea behind the cosmetics company was that she wanted “women everywhere to feel included”.
Forbes reports that the bulk of her fortune comes from the value of Fenty Beauty, of which Forbes can now confirm she owns 50%. Much of the rest lies in her stake in her lingerie company, Savage x Fenty, worth an estimated $270 million, and her earnings from her career as a chart-topping musician and actress.
The other half of Fenty Beauty is owned by the French luxury goods conglomerate LVMH, run by the world’s second-richest person, Bernard Arnault. Besides the fact that Rihanna is involved, the brand stands out for offering 50 different shades of foundation, including hard-to-find darker colours.
This new billionaire status makes her the second richest female entertainer in the world. That number one spot is taken by TV talk show queen Oprah Winfrey.
