SINGER CARDI B FILES FOR DIVORCE FROM HUSBAND OFFSET
Singer and rapper, Cardi B, whose real name is Belcalis Almanzar, has recently filed for divorce from her husband, fellow hip-hop star, Offset.
The New York rapper from the band Migos, whose real name is Kiari Cephus recently described their marriage as "irretrievably broken", after the couple secretly got married in 2017. The couple did not publicly reveal the news of their marriage until a year later.
Cardi announced her split from Offset in December of 2018 following rumours of him cheating. However Offset took to Instagram apologising for being a "selfish, messed-up husband". He then asked for forgiveness on-stage in front of a crowd at her Rolling Loud concert, and asked the singer to "Take me back Cardi."
Even though Offset's actions was not taken to heart by Cardi B's fans who called it "toxic", the singer urged her fans not to bash her husband for trying, and wrote; "I'm not saying that I'm gonna get back together with him, I just don't like that bashing online thing."
However, the relationship now appears to have come to an official end, as legal documents stated that the couple are now living in a "bona fide state of separation" and that there are "no prospects for a reconciliation".
According to the court records, Cardi B is asking for "primary physical custody" of their two-year-old daughter Kulture. Cardi aslo wants Offset to contribute for "support and maintenance".
Cardi is also requesting for the couples assets to be split evenly.
In an interview with Cosmopolitan earlier in that same year, Cardi explained that she wanted to work on the relationship, and stated that nothing that he did was "not right" but that "I ain't no angel".
