SIYA KOLISI'S BOOK WILL STILL BE FOR SALE

Jonathan Ball Publishers is adamant that it won't withdraw the biography of Siya Kolisi.

This comes after Rachel Kolisi, wife of the Springbok captain, urged her followers on social media to support her husband by not buying the book.

Siya Kolisi: Against All Odds was written by Jeremy Daniel and is an unofficial biography of the Western Province player's rise to success.

Over the years, many unofficial biographies have been published about famous sports stars, celebrities and members of the British royal family.

Jeremy Borraine, publishing director at Jonathan Ball, told News24 that the revised edition that was recently launched will continue to be for sale.

"We've taken note of their unhappiness though we're not withdrawing the book. As publisher, Jonathan Ball believes we've done nothing wrong."

Rachel received major backlash after her post. Followers doubted her reasoning for bringing race into it when she posted "And I would appreciate your help on calling this out for what it is. WHITE MEN benefiting off the back of a BLACK MAN."

While the Kolisi's might have made their voices heard, they gave the book the publicity it needed. As they say, no publicity is bad publicity.
