SNORKELER FINDS MISSING WEDDING RING WRAPPED AROUND FISH'S BODY

During December last year, Nathan Reeves and his wife Suzie Quintal went swimming off a remote island in the Pacific Ocean, just north of Australia. When they got out of the water, Nathan realised that his gold wedding band was missing.

Both Nathan and Suzie assumed that they would never find it again. That is until a local snorkeller spotted the ring stuck around the body of a mullet fish. Susan Prior managed to take a photo of the small fish with the ring around its body but said that she wasn’t able to capture it as she might injure the fish while doing so.

Susan explained to the Daily Mail Australia that "the metal can only be removed by catching the fish in a net and gently removing it. The fish seems to be OK so far but as it grows, the ring will cut into it".

Locals, including Nathan and Suzie’s friends who they were visiting when the incident happened last year, are searching around Emily Bay with the hope of finding the fish again.

Ironically, Nathan lost his ring a day before the couple’s second wedding anniversary.
