SOCIAL MEDIA DIVIDED OVER POLONY FLAVOURED CHEESE

This year has surely been a strange one. Not only were we exposed to a worldwide pandemic, but we were introduced to new concepts and words like lockdown, social distancing and wearing masks in public.

Just when you think the year is almost over and we couldn’t possibly be introduced to another strange concept, Clover decides to launch polony flavoured processed cheese slices.

South Africans love their cheese and polony sandwiches, so Clover was pretty brave to even go there. Reactions on social media were divided, with many users dismissing the idea first and then got sort of warmed up to the idea.

IOL reports that @Mathetem wrote, "They clearly have a polony surplus and needed to chuck it somewhere… or somehow getting rid of the middlemen as part of the sandwich wars!"

@RyanCptZa fell in love with the concept immediately writing "Yes man! This is what I’ve been waiting for all my life! I can picture this on a sandwich with marmite and fish paste."

One user pointed out that biltong flavoured cheese already exists, so why should polony flavoured cheese be weird?

Whatever you prefer, we’re sure this South African flavoured cheese will be a hit as everyone tries it out on their sandwiches.
