SOUTH AFRICA NAMED FRIENDLIEST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD
Congrats to us! According to results from a new survey conducted by US-based payments group Remitly, South Africa is the friendliest country in the world.
The Big 5 Personality Test required 3,000 participants worldwide to answer a series of questions.
The test looked at five key personality traits namely agreeableness, extraversion, neuroticism, openness, and conscientiousness.
According to Remitly, respondents were asked to determine how concerned they feel for others, whether they take time for other people, and whether they like to make people feel at ease.
The higher the scores the friendlier, more generous, helpful, and willing people were to compromise their interests with others.
“People who score highly in this section of the test value getting along with others and have an optimistic view of human nature, meaning they’re likely to be warm and friendly to those they meet.”
According to the survey results, South Africa ranked the highest in the agreeableness test with an “impressive” score of 34.63 out of 40.
The other countries who made the top five were Greece in second place, Croatia in third place, Mexico in fourth place, and Sweden in fifth place.
Australia, Canada, Germany, Estonia, and Belgium were the other five countries that made up the top 10 friendliest countries in the world.
