STARBUCKS TO LAUNCH SIT-DOWN STORES WITHIN SELECT CHECKERS

Pretty soon, you will be able to take a break from shopping inside select Checkers stores and sit down for your favourite Starbucks drink.

The select stores are known as Checkers Fresh X concept stores.

Business Insider reports that the Checkers Fresh X concept store was first opened in Mall of Africa back in 2017. It has proven to be a hit among affluent customers and formed the basis on which the decision was made to revamp at least a third of its current stores.

Fresh X concept stores feature more upmarket furniture and signage – including benches and tables for customers to test samples. Other branches that will be revamped, including Canal Walk, Rosebank, Stellenbosch, and Castle Gate Mall in Pretoria.

Willem Hunlun, the chief operating officer for Checkers, told Business Insider that "the Checkers Fresh X collaboration with Starbucks will make premium coffee more accessible and bring the Starbucks experience to thousands of consumers through its increased retail footprint.

"As Checkers continues to grow and expand its fresh offering; the partnership with Starbucks is another testament to its determination to offer an improved world-class shopping experience."
