THE GLOBAL CITIZEN FESTIVAL HAS ANNOUNCED ITS LINE-UP!Date: 2018-07-09
The international advocacy organisation, Global Citizen, officially announced that Beyoncé and Jay-Z will headline the first Global Citizen Festival to be held in Africa.
The festival is a free-ticketed event that will take place on Sunday, December 2, 2018, at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg. The event is the culmination of Global Citizen's Mandela 100 campaign in partnership with the House of Mandela; a series of global events that honour the life and legacy of Nelson Mandela in his centenary year.
The event will be hosted by Oprah Winfrey, Naomi Campbell, Gayle King, Bob Geldof, Tyler Perry and Forest Whitaker. Cassper Nyovest, D'banj, Ed Sheeran, Eddie Vedder, Femi Kuti, Pharrell Williams & Chris Martin, Sho Madjozi, Tiwa Savage, Usher and Wizkid will also perform at the event.
In order to get free tickets, activists and music fans can begin to earn their free tickets starting on 21 August and can sign up today at www.globalcitizen.org.za, demanding that world leaders make major investments to end extreme poverty and take a stand for women and girls. The music fans and activists that sign-up will be notified of the action journey launch. Actions include emailing world leaders, signing petitions and using social media to generate commitments in support of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
So no matter how thick your wallet is, in order to earn these free tickets, fans need to take action and each time you take action you earn points. Those points will get you into the concert. Good Luck!
