THE WORLD'S BEST AND WORST EXPAT COUNTRIES FOR 2021

While South Africa's weather and people have been attributes to the country, its crime and weak currency have proved to be its downfall.

South Africa ranked number 57 out of 59 countries in the Expat Insider 2021 survey. This is the seventh time that this survey has been conducted worldwide. Only two other countries are worse for expats than us. Those two countries are Italy at number 58 and Kuwait at number 59.

The survey's official website says more than 12,000 respondents from Expat Insider's 4-million strong community participated. Together they represent a total of 174 nationalities and live in 186 countries or territories around the world.

According to Property24, the survey takes an extensive look at living and working abroad, offering in-depth information on expats' satisfaction with the quality of life, ease of settling in, working life, personal finance, and the cost of living in their respective country of residence.

The top 10 countries where expats are most satisfied include Australia, Taiwan, Malaysia, Mexico, Portugal, New Zealand, Ecuador, Costa Rica, Canada and Vietnam.

For the third year in a row, Taiwan has ranked 1st out of 59 destinations according to the survey.
