THREE LOCAL RESTAURANTS NAMED AS WORLD’S BEST

Making the list of the world’s best restaurants is something every restaurant in the world dreams of, and this yea,r three restaurants in South Africa had their dream come true.

The World’s Best Restaurants List for 2025 has been announced, and we’ve got something to smile about.

La Colombe was our highest entry at number 55th, a massive achievement. This fine dining restaurant is located on Silvermist Wine Estate with views to die for over the world-famous Constantia Valley just outside Cape Town.

This is La Colombe’s sixth time making the list, something Chef James Gaag can be very proud of.

South Africa’s second restaurant on the list is FYN at number 82.

FYN is located on top of an old silk factory in Cape Town’s city centre. Under Chefs Ashely Moss and Peter Tempelhoff’s watchful eyes, FYN creates delicious meals with the perfect mix between African and Japanese flavours.

The third restaurant is Salsify. It’s this restaurant, located in Camps Bay’s debut.

Not only is Salsify a treat for the tastebuds, but it also offers breathtaking views with Lion’s Head in the background.

Every year, numbers 51 to 100 is announced before the official ceremony, where numbers 1 to 50 are announced.

The official World’s 50 Best Restaurants ceremony will take place on 19 June in the Italian city of Turin.
