TIGER BRANDS RECALLS STOCK CUBES

South Africa’s biggest food manufacturer is recalling its Benny beef- and chicken-flavoured stock cubes.

On Thursday, the company urged customers to return the cubes to their nearest retailers to receive a full refund.

The reason for the recall has been stated as inaccurate labelling on packaging.

The product in question is the stock cubes that are available in the 12, 24 and 48 cube packs. The cubes have been on shelves across the country since 2023 and have a best-before date of 31 July 2027. Cubes with a best-before date before that can also be returned for a full refund.

Tiger Brands released a statement assuring retailers and customers that only the chicken- and beef-flavoured stock cubes are affected, and none of the other products available in the Benny brand.

The Benny brand was recently introduced to the market by Tiger Brands.

Once the labelling information has been corrected, the stock cubes will be available again.
