TORI SPELLING AND JENNIE GARTH REACTS TO JESSICA ALBA’S CLAIM OF BEVERLY HILLS 90210 STARS
The famous actress, Jessica Alba, recently dropped a bombshell where she claimed that she wasn't allowed to make eye contact with the stars of Beverly Hills 90210 on her appearance in two episodes in 1998.
However, Tori Spelling and Jennie Garth was not pleased to hear that Alba had a bad experience on set and reacted to her claims.
Spelling commented that; "I had all the scenes with her. If anybody didn’t want to have their eyes looked into, it would’ve been me, but I don’t remember ‘cause I have the world’s worst memory."
Spelling continued to add that she speculated that Fox's producers had passed around a 'cool memo' without giving notice to the cast, and said "Imagine we just thought guest stars didn’t like us? ‘They never looked at us! We don’t know why. We were so nice."
Garth also commented that, "From the vague memories I have of working with her, I only remember her being super talented. She was very young, and she was really sweet. It does not surprise me that she’s gone on to be so successful."
Spelling also joked around and mentioned that she uses products from Alba's very successful Honest Company. "I was a little horrified when I saw that clip … because her baby wipes are my favorite. … Like, I wipe my child's a** with her baby wipes every single day. I’m so upset right now."
In the two episodes, Alba starred as pregnant Leanne, and revealed that during her time on the set, she wasn't even allowed to look the main casts members in the eye. She claimed that "I couldn’t even make eye contact with any of the cast members, which was really strange when you’re, like, trying to do a scene with them. It was like, ‘You’re not allowed to make eye contact with any one of the cast members or you’ll be thrown off the set.’"
However, Alba is not the first actress to speak out about behavior on the Beverly Hills 90210 set. Actress, Tiffani Thiessen, also reveald on the Howard Stern show in 2012 that Garth and Spelling, "were not very nice to me."
Another reboot star, AnnaLynne McCord, also shared on US Weekly in 2019 that the original stars weren't too welcoming either. She added that "They were being a little shady toward me! And then I was a little shady back!"
