TRUMP WINS US ELECTIONS

It’s official! Donald Trump has been elected as the 47th president of the United States of America.

In what many consider a landslide victory, Donald Trump’s Republican Party won 295 of the electoral votes. Vice President Kamala Harris’s Democratic Party came in second with 226 electoral votes.

Since the announcement, several leaders from other countries have congratulated Trump. Ironically, Russia’s Vladimir Putin and Ukraine’s Volodymyr Zelensky congratulated Trump on his election.

China’s President Xi Jinping said his country will “continue to view and handle China-US relations in accordance with the principles of mutual respect, peaceful coexistence and cooperation for win-win”. He continued, saying “We respect the choice of the American people and congratulate Mr. Trump on his election as president”.

Trump gave his victory speech while being supported on stage by South African-born and the world’s richest man, Elon Musk as well as others many believe could be candidates for his cabinet and administration staff.

During her concession speech in Washington DC, Vice President Harris urged her Democratic supporters to “never give up” fighting for their ideals.

Harris gave her concession speech at the same venue where she was forced to plan her victory party scheduled for the night before.

The presidential inauguration has been scheduled for February 2025.
