TWO MEN FOUND DEAD AT FORMER VERSACE MANSION
Miami Police have reported that two men have been found dead at the former home of Gianni Versace.
The Italian fashion designer's mansion in Miami Beach was turned into a boutique hotel, named The Villa Casa Casuarina, after it was sold by the Versace family.
It is believed that housekeepers found the bodies of two men in one of the rooms. A preliminary investigation revealed that the deaths seem to be an apparent double suicide. The cause of death will be determined and confirmed by the Miami-Dade Medical Examiner's Office at a later date.
The death of the two men comes a day before the anniversary of the death of Versace himself.
Versace was killed on the front steps of his mansion when Andrew Cunanan shot him in 1997. Fox43 reports that Cunanan, 27, who was suspected of killing four gay men in an interstate killing spree that stretched from Minnesota to New Jersey, later took his own life in a houseboat.
In a statement to USA Today, the hotel said that its staff are cooperating with local authorities in the ongoing investigation. "We are heartbroken by tragic events at Villa Casa Casuarina," the statement read.
