TYSON FURY ANNOUNCES RETIREMENT

It’s the end of an era in the world of boxing. British boxer Tyson Fury has announced his retirement.

Fury, a former heavyweight boxing champion lost a very public rematch only last month when Oleksandr Usyk beat him. The Ukrainian is the current WBA, WBC, and WBO world champion.

Fury announced the end of his career in a video posted on Instagram.

“Hello everyone, this will be short and sweet. I am announcing my retirement from boxing. It’s been great, I’ve enjoyed every minute and I’ll end with this: Dick Turpin wore a mask.”

Fans were baffled by his mentioning of Turpin, a famous English horse thief who was active during the 18th century.

He ended off the message by saying “God bless you, see you on the other side”.

Fury had a successful career that started in 2008. Before announcing his retirement his career consisted of 34 wins, two losses, and only one draw. He also managed to add 24 knockouts to his list of achievements.

It’s unclear whether Fury will still be involved in the boxing industry.
