UKRAINIAN WOMEN WHO POSED NAKED IN DUBAI TO BE DEPORTED

After a massive hunt to find the 11 women who posed naked in Dubai, authorities have decided to deport them.

The 11 women all hail from the Ukraine, and were detained by authorities in Dubai, along with a male Russian photographer.

The hunt and subsequent arrests follow photos and videos of the 11 women posing naked and leaning over a balcony overlooking the city. The photos were posted on social media earlier this week.

One of the women is a 27-year-old model who was identified by the tattoo on her body. The model has posted photos of the tattoo frequently on social media.

The Guardian reports that the photos and videos of the naked women sent a wave of shock through the emirate, where a legal code based on Islamic law, or Shariah, has landed foreigners in jail for tamer offences.

Something like nudity can carry a penalty of up to six months in prison as well as a fine of 5,000 dirhams. Even kissing in public carries a heavy fine and possible time in jail.

The fact that the 11 women and the male photographer are only going to be deported without being prosecuted or jailed, has raised eyebrows across the world.
