VIDEO: PARKTOWN BOYS WATERPOLO COACH CHARGED WITH SEXUAL ASSAULT AND ATTEMPTED MURDER
On the 8th of May 2017, the Gauteng Department of Education released a statement that they would be investigating claims of sexual assault made by Parktown Boys High school students against the school's water polo coach.
More than 20 boys have come forward with these accusations which the education department claims to have had no knowledge of before it became public. The department claimed that they would take these accusations very seriously and delve into an investigation as well as question the school as to why it didn't report the incident immediately.
The accused has not yet been named as he has not yet pleaded but he is due to appear in court on the 22nd of November facing 160 charges of rape, sexual assault, assault with attempt to do bodily harm, and attempted murder. The coach resigned as soon as the allegations came to light and was arrested but has been released on bail despite CCTV evidence of him inappropriately touching a student in his dorm room.
The hearing on Wednesday will determine the coach's fate.
