VIDEO: PETR CECH CLAIMS 200 PREMIER LEAGUE CLEAN SHEETS
Petr Cech reached an exceptional English Premier League milestone this past weekend when he claimed his 200th clean sheet in the league.
Arsenal's 3-0 victory over Watford extended the record he set back in December, although eleven games and almost three months to achieve this record performance must have been excruciating.
It was a heroic performance for the goalkeeper who, in the 62nd minute, saved a penalty from Troy Deeney – which is also the first spot-kick since 2011 that Cech has saved, not to mention the first one for Arsenal. In his 332 appearances during his eleven years at Chelsea, the 35-year-old saved 162 spot-kicks, which is the reason he leads the standings by quite a large margin – former Liverpool and Manchester City goalkeeper David James in a distant second with 169 clean sheets.
