VIDEO: THE STARS OF THE 2018 OSCARS
The most glamorous event of the year was watched with anticipation from the audience all over the world. Jimmy Kimmel did a great job of entertaining the crowd but The Shape of Water soon took centre stage, winning four Oscars: Best Picture, Best Director, Original Score, and Production Design. Gary Oldman won an award for his performance in Darkest Hour as Winston Churchill. Frances McDormand won an Oscar for best actress for her performance in Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri and made a touching speech, dedicated to all of the talented women at the event and calling for diversity in films.
Jordan Peele made history as the first black screenwriter to win an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay for the horror/suspense thriller Get Out. James Ivory has become the oldest man to ever win an Oscar at the age of 90 for Best Adapted Screenplay for the movie Call Me By Your Name. Blade Runner 2049 cinematographer, Roger Deakins, finally won Best Cinematography after being nominated 14 times.
