WOMAN FLIES FROM AUSTRALIA TO ENGLAND FOR A FIRST DATE

An Australian woman took a 24-hour-journey on board a plane to go on a first date. Sara and Laura* met online back in 2014 when they both followed the same Tori Amos Twitter account.

The two soon started to follow each other and, not long after that, they began to comment on each other's tweets.

Commenting soon evolved into sending DMs, which then became texts, phone calls and video calls.

Sara was a 24-year-old Australian living in Sydney back then. She was studying for her master's degree. With Sara not having enough money to pay for her ticket to England, her family chipped in to help her.

The two of them had their very first date at one of the coffee shops at Heathrow.

Both of them eventually finished their university studies, and that's when Laura decided to move to Australia so that she could be with Sara permanently.

The two of them are now happily married and living in Sydney.
