YOU CAN NOW BUILD YOUR OWN UNIQUE PORSCHE

With most new cars that you buy, you can configure your specific model according to your needs and budget. It's nothing new and car manufacturers all over the world do it.

Now, Porsche has gone one step further.

A small number of customers will be allowed to order a truly custom Porsche. Since one of the terms and conditions is that you'll be responsible for developing your unique Porsche, the clientele is very limited.

Currently, Porsche plans to manufacture only 1,000 custom cars per year. With the new option, you'll be able to ask for much more than just a special paint colour as significant mechanical deviations will also be possible. Although, it has to be added that Porsche hasn't confirmed what will be available and what not.

According to Road And Track, as an elite customer, you'll work with Porsche for a year to assess technical feasibility while paying around $100,000 in development costs. Once it's determined whether it's possible to build what is requested, the customer gets to choose if they want to pay even more money to have their car made.

So, even if you just want Porsche to work on your idea, you'll have to fork out money, and that doesn't mean that you'll get a definite two thumbs up from the German brand.
