YOU CAN NOW BUY WINE AT A BP GARAGE
You can now fill up your car and buy your wine at the same place. The petrol giant, BP, recently announced that it has obtained a liquor licence.
This means that some of its stations will be allowed to sell alcohol, but it has its eye on a specific market: The wine drinkers.
Business Tech reports that the petrol retailer launched "wine on the go" at one site, in Radiokop north of Johannesburg, on Thursday.
"There, you will now find a small selection of wine, including sparkling wine. It is what BP described in a statement as an offer for a customer looking to pop in and out… to go pop the cork at home."
The wine will be available through the Pick n Pay outlets at some of its 200 petrol stations soon, but for now, it's only available at one station.
Pick n Pay replaced some of the BP Express shops within the stations 13 years ago. The partnership has been good for both sides and the idea of customers being able to buy wine on their way home will definitely add to this happy partnership.
In a combined statement, both companies said that they're also "exploring opportunities for customers to receive their wine directly at their doorstep at the touch of a button through food delivery apps".
