BANK ROBBERS USE PORSCHE AS GETAWAY CAR

Getaway cars are usually chosen for their speed or durability, well that’s what we usually see in the movies, so we assume that’s the rationale behind it.

Bank robbers in Umhlanga, KwaZulu-Natal not only arrived in style, but they also left in style with a whole lot of money when they robbed a bank making use of a Porsche.

Robbers stole around R200 000 during the robbery that took place at the First National Bank (FNB) branch in Crescent Shopping Centre.

A passer by witnessed the robbery and managed to flag down a reaction unit car that was patrolling the area. The reaction car then alerted the local police.

The Natal Witness reports that one of the customers was robbed of R150 000 which was the proceeds from the sale of his vehicle. The second person was robbed of R50 000.

After they robbed the victims, the gunmen got into the Porsche and sped away. While the model of the Porsche isn’t known, it’s been reported that it was a silver Porsche and it had a local Umhlanga registration number.

The victims weren’t injured.
