CANADA NAMED SAFEST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD FOR TOURISTS

If you want to travel to another country and safety is a priority for you, then Canada is your top choice.

A United States-based travel insurance provider recently published their annual list of “safest destinations” in the world and at the top of this year’s list is this North American country.

The ninth edition of this list tracked American travellers’ attitudes towards travel safety during the last year.

The travel insurance provider’s research showed that “a safe place was originally a place that’s largely free from terrorist activity. Then, it became a place that was safe from disease outbreaks. Now, it’s a place where all types of people can move about freely without discrimination or harassment”.

Second on the list is Switzerland, followed by Norway and Ireland. Rounding out the top five safest countries on the list for travellers is The Netherlands.

The countries listed from number six to 10 are the United Kingdom, Portugal, Denmark, Iceland and Australia.

As far as the safest cities to travel to go, Honolulu in Hawaii took the top spot, followed by Montreal and Reykjavik in second and third place.
