It was a night of glitz, glamour and Hollywood royalty when the 81st Golden Globe Awards took place on Sunday.

After two of the biggest movies went head-to-head at the cinemas last year which led to the term Barbenheimer being conjured up, both Barbie and Oppenheimer had successful nights.

Oppenheimer won several big awards including Best Drama Actor for Cillian Murphy, Best Director for Christopher Nolan and Best Original Score.

Barbie was the most nominated film at the Globes but only won two awards: Best Original Song and the inaugural cinematic achievement award.

‘What was I made for?’ is a song from the Barbie soundtrack. The winning song was written and produced by Billie Eilish and her brother Finneas, and performed by Billie.

Poor Things, the movie starring Emma Stone won both Best Musical or Comedy and Best Actress, while Robert Downey Jnr. walked away with the Best Supporting Actor award for his role in Oppenheimer.

The Best Supporting Actress award was won by Da’Vine Joy Randolph for her role in The Holdovers.

The television section was ruled by Beef; The Bear; and Succession. The three series walked away with most of the awards for the night.

The ceremony was hosted by Jo Koy.
