MICROSOFT ADDS AI BUTTON TO KEYBOARD

In what is called the biggest change to its keyboards in 30 years, Microsoft has added an artificial intelligence (AI) key to its keyboards.

The button will allow users to access Copilot on the new Windows 11 with the touch of a button. Copilot is Microsoft’s recently launched AI tool.

Copilot has recently been incorporated into other Microsoft products like Microsoft 365 and Bing.

Microsoft executive vice president Yusuf Mehdi said the addition of the AI button was as “transformative” as the addition of the Windows key almost three decades ago.

The aim of the button is to “simplify” and “amplify” a user’s experience.

The BBC reports that the new keyboards are expected to be on new products from February. Microsoft will showcase some of the products with the Copilot key at the upcoming CES tech event, which starts next week in Las Vegas.
