OSCAR PISTORIUS TO BE RELEASED

Disgraced Paralympian and convicted murderer Oscar Pistorius will be released from prison on 5 January.

This was confirmed by the Correctional Services Department.

His release also comes with strict rules he has to adhere to at all times. These include monitoring of his actions until the expiry date of his sentence in 2029.

Other parole conditions include him being at home during certain hours of the day, he’s not allowed to drink alcohol use prohibited substances, and he’s not allowed to give media interviews.

As part of the early release process, Pistorius and Reeva Steenkamp’s dad Barry met to discuss his early release from prison. Barry has since passed away at the age of 80.

Her mom, June said although she agrees with the release she doesn’t believe he has fully taken control of his anger management.

As part of his release agreement Pistorius has to attend anger management meetings and gender based violence classes.

Pistorius was found guilty of murdering Reeva inside his home on Valentine’s Day 11 years ago.
