DONALD SUTHERLAND DIES
Actor Donald Sutherland has passed away at the age of 88.
The news of his untimely death was announced by his son and fellow actor, Kiefer Sutherland.
“With a heavy heart, I tell you that my father, Donald Sutherland, has passed away.”
Donald had a very lengthy and successful career spanning from “The Dirty Dozen” to “The Hunger Games”. During his career, the Canadian was awarded for his acting talent.
He won a Primetime Emmy Award and two Golden Globe Awards. He was nominated for an Academy Award and received an Academy Honorary Award in 2017.
Kiefer added that his dad loved what he did.
“I personally think (he was) one of the most important actors in the history of film. Never daunted by a role, good, bad or ugly. He loved what he did and did what he loved, and one can never ask for more than that. A life well lived.”
For two years during the 1970s, Donald famously had an affair with actress Jane Fonda who he starred opposite in the movie Klute.
Four of Donald’s sons were named after directors he worked with during his career.
Donald died in Miami after a long illness.
