JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE ARRESTED FOR DRUNK DRIVING
Pop star Justin Timberlake has been arrested for driving while intoxicated.
According to a statement released by the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office, Timberlake was arrested on Tuesday morning in New York.
The arrest took place in Sag Harbor, a rich village in the Hamptons – an area popularly known as the summer playground of the rich and famous.
Police pulled him over in his BMW because he drove through a stop sign and failed to stay on the right side of the road. The 43-year-old was pulled over by police officers and it was reported that his eyes were “bloodshot and glassy”.
The police report also stated that a “strong odour of an alcoholic beverage was emanating from his breath”.
According to CBS News, Timberlake told the police officer who pulled him over the he “had one martini and followed (his) friends home”.
The famous singer, songwriter and actor is set to start his international tour for his latest album Everything I Thought It Was in Poland next week.
It’s not clear whether the tour will be interrupted for his virtual court appearance on 26 July.
Timberlake was formally charged but no bail was set.
