ELON MUSK NAMES NEW TWITTER CEO

Linda Yaccarino has been named the new CEO of Twitter. After months of promising to step back from the role, Elon Musk made the decision via a tweet.

“I am excited to welcome Linda Yaccarino as the new CEO of Twitter!”

He said she “will focus primarily on business operations, while I focus on product design & new technology”.

Just hours before Musk made the announcement, Yaccarino made an announcement of her own. She stepped down as chairman of global advertising and partnerships at NBCUniversal.

“It has been an absolute honour to be part of Comcast NBCUniversal and lead the most incredible team. We’ve transformed our company and the entire industry.”

In a poll at the end of 2022, 57% of users who voted in a poll said they want Musk to step down as CEO. The poll was posted by Musk himself. Soon after he vowed to name a replacement CEO “as soon as I find someone foolish enough to take the job!”.
