FORMER F1 TEAM OWNER EDDIE JORDAN DIES
Eddie Jordan has passed away at the age of 76. The former F1 team owner died in Cape Town.
In December, the Irishman revealed that he was suffering from prostate and bladder cancer which eventually spread to his pelvis and spine.
The news was announced by his family: “It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Eddie Jordan OBE, the ex-Formula 1 team owner, TV pundit and entrepreneur.
“He passed away peacefully with family by his side in Cape Town in the early hours of 20th March 2025 at the age of 76, after battling with an aggressive form of prostate cancer for the past 12 months.”
Jordan was the owner of the Jordan F1 racing team. Under his leadership, the team entered 250 races from 1991 to 2005.
They won four races and had a one-two finish at the 1998 Belgian Grand Prix in 1998.
In 2005, Jordan sold his team to Aston Martin.
Through a consortium, he was a co-owner of the former English rugby Premiership club London Irish.
He was also involved with F1 design guru Adrian Newey’s move from Red Bull to Aston Martin.
