GLOBAL CHECK-IN AT AIRPORTS DELAYED

The Airports Company of South Africa (ACSA) has advised that passengers should arrive at airports a bit earlier than usual due to a global technical issue affecting all check-in systems.

The system has been giving problems worldwide with delays having been reported at most international airports.

ACSA released a statement saying the airport check-in processes may take longer than usual, but technicians are actively working to resolve the matter.

No estimates time has been given for the completion of the technical work or when the system will be up and running again.

The statement also advised passengers to download the ACSA mobile app for live flight updates. An alternative is to contact their airlines directly as the airlines will also be able to give updated flight information.

ACSA confirmed that airlines are using back systems to keep flights on schedule, but that passengers are asked to be patient.
