HUSBAND DRUGGED WIFE SO OTHER MEN COULD RAPE HER

When Dominique Pelicot was arrested for taking photos of under-skirt women in a supermarket, no one knew the bomb that was about to explode. And that includes his wife.

Gisele Pelicot attended alongside her husband when the local police invited them to the police station. She thought the questions were routine and that they were about the photos her husband had taken of the women.

Meanwhile, a dark and ugly secret came to light. When police started to investigate Dominique, they found thousands of photos of his wife unconscious in bed with various men raping her.

When confronted, he admitted to police that he enjoyed watching 51 other men, often complete strangers, having sex with his wife while she was unconscious because of drugs and sleeping tablets he gave her.

During the court proceedings that started in August, the 71-year-old Gisele told the judge that she was “never complicit” in the acts. According to court records, the 72-year-old Dominique told the men that she was pretending to be asleep.

The BBC reports that Gisele waived her right to anonymity to shift the “shame” back onto the accused, her legal team had said.

Gisele told the court that she will never forget the cry that came out of her daughter the day she told her that her father had raped her and had other men raped her for more than a decade.

Dominique and Gisele had been married for 50 years; she is now in the process of divorcing him.

The trial is set to continue for the rest of September.
