RAYGUN APOLOGISES TO BREAKDANCING COMMUNITY

When Rachael Gunn got ready to perform at the Paris Games in August, the last thing on her mind she probably had no idea just how famous she would become in a few hours, unfortunately for all the wrong reasons.

Rachael Gunn, her real name, apologized to the breakdancing community during an interview with an Australian current affairs program. During the interview, she said she was “very sorry for the backlash that the community has experienced” as a result of her performance.

During her performance at the Games, the 37-year-old didn’t get a single point from the judges while she was battling it out against breakers from Lithuania, France and the United States.

In fact, her performance went viral for all the wrong reasons. She lost 18-0 in all three rounds.

Gunn said, “It kind of feels like a really weird dream that I’ve been having that I’m going to wake up from at any moment”.

Her performance went viral and made headlines all over the world with Jimmy Fallon doing a sketch on her as well as the British pop singer Adele mentioning her during one of her sold-out concerts.

This was the first time that breakdancing was included as an Olympic sport. It’ll always be the last as it won’t feature at the 2028 Los Angeles Fames.
