NANDO’S WARN OF CHICKEN SHORTAGES DUE TO LOADSHEDDING

Fast-food joint Nando’s has warned that there might be possible chicken shortages at its stores across the country. They have put up signs at their outlets, saying it’s due to persistent high stages of loadshedding.

Due to the possible shortage, some meals might not be available on the menu.

Loadshedding remains a massive threat to the fresh food supply chain and Eskom implementing stage six power cuts isn’t helping at all.

EWN reports that the franchise said while it continued to assess the situation daily, it believed that it had a reliable approach to ensure that it could serve its customers. It added that it would continue to ensure that its supply was in line with the quality that customers expect, despite the challenges.

Nando’s isn’t the first chicken fast-food outlet to raise the alarm. In December last year, KFC announced that some of its stores may close temporarily, while others were low on chicken stock and might only be able to offer limited menu options.
