PRET A MANGER TO OPEN IN SA

Get ready, South Africa! You’re about to be introduced to what could possibly be your new favourite coffee shop.

Pret A Manger is about to open in South Africa. This would be the first time that the famous coffee shop with organic coffee and on-the-go food options will have a footprint on the African continent.

The exclusive licensing rights to operate the Pret A Manger stores in the country have been awarded to the Millat Group, a financial advisory and private equity firm.

According to a statement released by the licensed operator, the first store will soon open in Johannesburg, although no official opening date has been given.

Following the Joburg branch, more stores will then open across the country including Cape Town, Pretoria and Durban.

Hamza Farooqui, CEO of the Millat Group, said: “Pret A Manger has the best-in-class offering of organic grab-and-go and a food-service offering that stands out.”

He added that the partnership “is in line with Millat’s strategy of bringing global brands into South Africa”.
