PRINCESS BEATRICE'S SURPRISE WEDDING
Princess Beatrice, the 31-year-old daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, married Edoardo Mozzi in an intimate private family ceremony on the 17th of July in Windsor.
Mozzi, a 37-year-old property developer has a four-year-old son from a previous relationship with American architect Dara Huang.
The pair planned to get married earlier this year in a lavish event hosted by the Queen, but the COVID-19 pandemic forced them to postpone their nuptials.
While more famous royals like Prince William, Kate Middleton, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle weren’t in attendance, the Princess’ grandparents the Queen and Prince Philip were.
Going against the usual path of having a dress designed especially for her by a famous designer, Princess Beatrice wore a vintage Norman Harnell gown on loan from the Queen herself. In a report by Town & Country, the dress was fitted and adjusted for her by the Queen’s official dressmakers and she wore Queen Mary’s diamond fringe tiara – the same tiara worn by the Queen herself on her wedding day.
In all official photos released by Buckingham Palace, Prince Andrew is notably not included in them. This could be due to the Prince’s highly publicised ties with deceased sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and his ex-girlfriend Ghislaine Maxwell, currently held in detention in New York on charges that she aided Epstein in luring underage girls to his house.
No information regarding the happy couple’s honeymoon plans were released.
