RED BULL SUSPENDS CHRISTIAN HORNER ACCUSER
The female employee who accused Christian Horner of inappropriate behaviour has been suspended by Red Bull.
The woman, who has not been identified, accused the F1 team principal of engaging in appropriate behaviour. This caused Red Bull to launch an independent investigation with the outcome finding Horner innocent and the woman suspended.
During this weekend’s Saudi Arabia Grand Prix in Jeddah, Horner said he’s unable to comment on the reported suspension due to “confidentiality restrictions”.
A spokesperson for Red Bull repeated the sentiment. “We are unable to comment on this internal matter.”
Alleged messages between Horner and the woman were leaked and distributed to members of the F1 community via Google Drive. The authenticity of the messages hasn’t been corroborated.
The investigation wasn’t done by Red Bull Racing, but by the owners of the racing team, GMBH.
The rumours led to the team’s world champion driver Max Verstappen’s dad, former F1 driver, Jos Verstappen, calling for Horner to get fired.
Max went on to defend his dad for speaking out but said he remains committed to the team.
Horner is married to former Spice Girl Gerri Halliwell.
