CELEBS TRAVEL TO INDIA FOR BILLIONAIRE HEIR’S PRE-WEDDING PARTY
Imagine a wedding over three days where guests include Mark Zuckerberg, Ivanka Trump, Sachin Tendulkar and Bill Gates with performances by Rihanna and David Blaine.
That’s the party that went down to prepare for the wedding of the youngest son of Asia’s richest man and his 29-year-old fiancé.
29-year-old Anant Ambani and Rahika Merchant are only set to marry in July, but if the pre-wedding bash was anything to go by, the wedding is going to be spectacular.
Over three days, around 1,200 guests from all over the world were treated to 500 dishes created by around 100 chefs. No expense was spared.
Ambani is an oil heir and the weekend’s festivities took place in the city of Jamnagar, not too far from one of the family’s main oil refineries.
CNN reports that chartered jets from New Delhi and Mumbai were made available to guests, as were the services of hair stylists, makeup artists and drapists.
A brand-new Hindu temple is being built especially for the wedding. The local community has also been included in the festivities as the Ambani family hosted a communal dinner for more than 50,000 local villagers.
