SASKO STOPS PRODUCTION WHERE MOUSE BAKED INTO LOAF

Production at the facility where a mouse was accidentally baked into a Sasko loaf of bread has been suspended.

At the end of August, a woman shared a video on social media when she found that a mouse had been baked into her loaf of bread. She bought the Sasko bread at a shop in KwaZulu-Natal.

Upon finding the mouse inside the loaf, she took it back to the shop where she got a full refund. The store manager suggested that she file a complaint with Sasko, which she did.

A representative from Sasko phoned the woman and assured her that the mouse wouldn’t affect her health.

But, how the mouse ended up in a loaf of bread is still a mystery.

An investigation was launched and third-party service providers were engaged.

“We were shocked and devastated when a KZN consumer, informed us that she found a rodent in her loaf of Sasko bread,”

Sasko said that although this was “an extreme and isolated, yet very unfortunate incident’ the production of bread has been suspended at the facility located in KZN until the investigation has been concluded.
