TEENAGER ARRESTED AFTER BANGKOK MALL SHOOTING

A 14-year-old boy has been arrested by Thai Police over a mass shooting that took place at a shopping mall in Bangkok.

The attack left three people dead and four wounded.

The arrest was confirmed by The Metropolitan Investigation Bureau of the Royal Thai Police.

Workers in the mail said they heard around 10 loud gun shots at around 16:30. In footage shared on social media, shoppers can be seen hiding under metal security gates and running down emergency stairwells while sirens could be heard ringing.

The mall is located in a hugely popular shopping spot, Siam Paragon. Tourists and locals alike regard this as the best shopping area in Bangkok.

This isn’t the first time that a mass shooting rocks the people of Thailand. Almost a year ago, an ex-police officer attacked a nursery. He was armed with a gun and a knife with which he killed 24 children and 12 adults.

Two years before that, in 2020, a former army officer murdered 29 people when he started shooting at random in a shopping mall.
