ALCARAZ AND FRITZ LOCK IN FOR LAVER CUP 2026
Carlos Alcaraz and Taylor Fritz have officially confirmed their participation in the 2026 Laver Cup.
The tournament is set to take place at The O₂ Arena in London from 25 to 27 September.
Alcaraz, currently world No. 1, and Fritz, ranked No. 6, are no strangers to this stage. They produced some of the most unforgettable moments in recent Laver Cup history.
In Berlin, Alcaraz sealed the title in a climactic match 12; in San Francisco, Fritz struck back by beating him, then secured victory for Team World with another decisive win over Alexander Zverev.
Returning to London adds even more drama, as The O₂ is steeped in iconic tennis history — not least Federer’s emotional farewell in 2022. Team Europe currently leads the overall series 5–3, but Team World has taken three of the last four.
Alcaraz said, “to play at The O₂ … with players I normally fight all year is really unique … I’m really motivated to help Team Europe win.”
Fritz echoed that sentiment, adding he loves the team dynamic and the energy of competing for something bigger than himself.
Their captains were full of praise: Yannick Noah said Alcaraz brings “unique talent, passion, and confidence,” while Andre Agassi called Fritz the embodiment of what the Laver Cup stands for.
As the Laver Cup returns to its London roots, Alcaraz and Fritz stand ready to reignite their rivalry and perhaps chase another trophy for their teams.
