DISCOVERY VITALITY: PICK N PAY IS OUT AND CHECKERS IS IN
Vitality members take note, from 1 September Pick n Pay will no longer be a healthy food partner as the medical aid’s wellness program has opted for its competitor, Checkers.
Moneyweb reports that 60% of Vitality members had different retailer preferences when they shopped in-store versus online. In other words, they shopped at Woolies stores but used Sixty60 deliveries for staples and other groceries.
Checkers’ Sixty60 delivery option has put the retailer in an advantageous position compared to its competitors since its launch. That, along with their new stores aimed at the higher LSM customers, has impacted its upward growth.
This has led to Vitality deciding to keep Woolworths on as a partner but replace Pick n Pay with Checkers. Pick n Pay has been a partner since 2009.
Through its HealthyFood programme, Vitality members can earn cash back on healthy items bought including fruit, vegetables, lean meats, fat-free dairy, starchy foods, legumes, and healthy fats/oils.
