FLOATING OLYMPIC VILLAGE FOR SURFERS
Over the last few days, athletes from all over the world have been sharing what it’s like inside the Olympic Village in Paris.
Social media has given us access to what the rooms look like, what the athletes get up to when they’re not competing and what the infamous cardboard beds look and feel like.
While it seems interesting and definitely on the upper-scale side of nice, nothing seems to beat the floating Olympic village reserved for the surfers off the coast of Tahiti.
Because France is unable to host a surfing competition due to their shoreline not being favourable for big waves, the organisers turned to a French territory: The island of Tahiti.
The island, especially the Teahupo’o area where the Olympics are being held, is known for being an ideal surfing location.
The floating Olympic village features 103 spacious cabins, eight guest decks, an outdoor swimming pool, a gym, a restaurant and loungers, a spa and beautiful Polynesian heritage interiors.
And after watching German Olympian Tim Elter’s video that’s already had 2 million views on TikTok, we can confirm that there are no cardboard beds on the ship.
