BIDEN DROPS OUT OF PRESIDENTIAL RACE

US President Joe Biden has announced that he won’t stand for re-election to keep himself in the Oval Office.

The 81-year-old Democrat leader took to X to announce the news.

“It has been the greatest honour of my life to serve you as President. While I have intended to seek reelection, I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to stand down and focus solely on fulfilling my duties as President for the remainder of my term.”

While the news shocked some, most Democrats sighed in relief.

There’s been a lot of pressure on Biden to drop out of the race and give Vice President Kamala Harris a chance to compete against Republican and former President Donald Trump.

In recent weeks, Biden has increasingly shown questionable actions and comments, like referring to Harris as vice President Trump during a press conference.

He was also filmed appearing to freeze at a public gathering when everyone around him was dancing.

Many Democratic donors started to raise their concerns about whether Biden is fit to compete in this highly publicised and tumultuous presidential race.

Actor George Clooney took to the New York Times to make his concerns public.

All eyes are now on Harris as she starts her campaign so late in the race and is yet to announce her vice Presidential nominee.
